Workshops: 9AM - 1:00PM
Be sure to sign up and attend all 3 Sessions: Part 1, 11 & 111 to complete your training. Volunteers can substitute with an evening/weekday session where there are available seats. The Advanced Topic areas will be covered on the 18th.

All study resources/handouts will be provided: Pub 4012 & Pub 6744.
Prerequisite: Registrants need to complete the two following online trainings before the workshop meets on November 4th and be prepared with the test answers. Memorization is not needed. Please do not go online to take any of these tests.
1. Volunteer Standards of Conduct (VSC) training (Ethics) The test questions are on Page 30-33.

3. Intake interview & Quality Review Form 13614-C (2022): Form 13614-C (Rev. 10-2022) (irs.gov)
The 2nd training is based on this form. This form is mandatory at VITA sites and must be used by all volunteers when working with clients. Please complete with your personal information.

Volunteers should try to attend all sessions in order to complete training for Basic Income Tax Preparation.
Each year United Way of Central Jersey helps complete hundreds of free tax returns for people in need through the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program, resulting in hundreds of dollars kept in our communities. The Middlesex County, NJ VITA Coalition is requiting additional volunteers in various capacities to help with this effort. Volunteers must complete certification timely and be ready to start by February 1 2023 through April 30, 2023.
Volunteers will work at one or more of our community host sites in New Brunswick, Jamesburg North Brunswick, Highland Park, Perth Amboy, Piscataway, Sayreville, Carteret, South Amboy or Milltown to provide this valuable service.
INCOME TAX PREPARER: Prepare Federal & State tax returns for electronic e-file
Skills – Detail oriented, great interpersonal skills, dependable, flexible.
Certifications required:
1. Ethics test (open book test)
2. Intake/Interview module (open book test)
3. Basic or Advanced level Certification (open book test)
