YMCA Board Committees can use volunteers with expertise in the following areas:   Building and Grounds, Finance, Program and Marketing, Leadership (human resources), and Fundraising.  Committees usually meet quarterly in the evenings.  

The Board of Directors serve as the policy making arm of the YMCA. Share your personal and professional expertise for the good work of the YMCA. Build your resume and experiences. Give back! Learn from others. College students-senior citizens welcome to apply.

We seek people who are the fixer uppers types, handy men or women who like to keep busy physically in a positive, uplifting atmosphere. Individuals who would volunteer for this position would help keep the YMCA maintained and in good repair. Work can be repair projects, painting, decorating, and plumbing, gardening or simply taking out the trash and vacuuming. We are totally flexible and cater to your interests and time schedule. The YMCA depends upon volunteers to enrich our programs, facility, and youth experiences. Many corporations find volunteering for a day at the YMCA a great way to build staff camaraderie. Volunteering brings purpose to ones self and a staff team as they contribute to the good of the community. Contact the YMCA for a work project that suits your group. Common experiences have included: planting gardens, indoor maintenance projects (painting, window cleaning, etc), outdoor clean up days (landscaping and camp set up), car washes that benefit our scholarship fund, projects with youth: carnivals, science fairs, and gardening initiatives, reading theme days, or holiday celebrations. The Child Care Aide will assist in the planning and implementation of the appropriate program activities and events as assigned. Qualifications: The Child Care Aide must be 15 years of age or older, have the personal qualities needed to work with children and their parents and be sensitive to the needs of others. They should be energetic, creative and have a good knowledge of sports, games, and other age-appropriate activities.

Job Responsibilities: Be part of a child's world! Read, feed, play, and program for children ages 6 weeks-5 years. Volunteer with YMCA staff to: 1. Assist with program activities; set up and clean up. 2. Help supervise children in all assigned activities. 3. Aide with mealtimes and baby feedings.

Volunteers in this position must be able to stand for extended periods of time, possess vision clarity (with the aid of corrective lenses if necessary), possess the ability to climb, balance, stop, kneel, crouch, reach, stand, lift, finger, grasp, feel, talk and hear. The physical requirements of the position ranges between medium and heavy work. Medium work includes exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally (heavy work exerts up to 100 pounds), and/or up to 20 pounds (50 pounds for heavy work) of force frequently. Medium work includes exerting up to 10 pounds of force constantly (20 pounds if heavy work) to move objects. 

Assist YMCA Business Department with assigned duties in the finance office or front desk services. Assume accountability for tasks assigned such as accounts payable, bank reconciliations, creation of reports, Excel spread sheets, graphs, charts, reviewing files, researching problems. Assist with office work, telephones, graphic art work or share other talents that can help the YMCA. The Y is a fun, congenial place to be.
