They are dedicated to advancing the quality of hospice care in the communities they serve utilizing the inherent expertise of their staff to educate consumers and to serve patients and families with the highest level of dignity and grace.

Volunteers are needed in a variety of capacities:
• Administrative Volunteers can work in the Edison office or remotely by making Memory Books for Alzheimer's patients, assisting with mailings, and other projects.

Position Description:  The Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) will champion the needs of a child from your community in the local Court system.  They will ensure abuse and neglect does not continue at the hands of the system.

 

Responsibilities:  Become a part of the life of a child in foster care.  Speak with the people in their lives including teachers, therapists and those who care for them.  Investigate their school, medical and case worker records.  Discover what resources they may need.  Establish and communicate recommendations to court professionals.

 

Skills:  Complete 30 hours of training (generally completed in one month, during evenings).  Attend a 3 hour court observation.  Take part in a swearing in ceremony with a family court judge.  Commit to advocating for a child’s case from inception to conclusion, generally 18 months.

 

About Us:  CASA Middlesex is the only child advocacy program where volunteers are appointed by judges to represent a child’s best interests.  We serve children from our community in Middlesex County who are in foster care.  Children with a CASA volunteer spend less time in foster care and have a higher likelihood of finding a permanent home then non-CASA children.  We are endorsed by the American Bar Association, National Council of Juvenile and Family Court Judges and the U.S. Department of Justice.

Once determined, our staff will only refer clients whose legal problem matches your preferred area of expertise. Our staff will prepare the case for referral and be available to provide any assistance needed.  As a participant in our Pro Bono Program, you will be covered by our malpractice insurance.  You will also be eligible for free CLE-approved training at Legal Services of New Jersey, and may be exempt from court appointed pro bono assignements.

As a nonprofit transportation company, we provide services to seniors and those with mild disabilities. As a volunteer driver, you would be providing a vital service - you use our beautiful, clean cars, our gas and our insurance to help people who might otherwise not be able to get around. We have a new fleet of Hondas - you'll love driving them AND helping the community! Our new office is on Industrial Way in Eatontown - you would come here to pick up your car and route! Our service runs Monday through Friday, 8 am to 5 pm. As a volunteer driver, you choose when and how long you would like to volunteer. You might like to come in for 3 hours a once or twice a week - or perhaps more or less! You choose! It's easy to get started! Just reach out to me, Pam Hughes, and get started!
