Women Aware seeks Volunteer Family Law Attorneys with experience in domestic violence and the civil and criminal justice systems to provide free consultations at our free Legal Clinic and/or provide volunteer pro-bono legal services to domestic violence victims with legal matters. Volunteer Family Law Attorneys must demonstrate compassion and empathy for domestic violence victims, with a strong ability to listen to and support victims in crisis.

This volunteer position is responsible for working closely with the Coordinator of Professional Training in providing awareness and education of the implications of domestic and dating violence throughout Middlesex County. Speaker?s Bureau volunteers represent Women Aware in schools, at health and career fairs and other community-based events. They provide basic domestic violence information and resource information.

The Hotline Volunteer will answer all calls from our 24 hour domestic violence hotline, provide referrals and conduct shelter assess. Provide crisis counseling, information referrals and shelter screening. Write and record accurate hotline logs. Maintain documented files, incidents, observations. And other relevant duties as may be assigned.

The Domestic Violence Response Team is a program managed in Middlesex County by Women Aware. Response Team members are Women Aware volunteers utilized by local Police Departments to provide crisis services to victims of Domestic Violence. This volunteer position is responsible for responding to their assigned police department(s) to provide emotional support, information on Domestic Violence, community resources, and safety planning. Response Team volunteers are available on an ?on-call? basis and are activated by the police department?s dispatcher. All crisis intervention duties are conducted at the police department.

Women Aware seeks mature-minded, dependable and committed, bilingual bicultural Spanish-speaking Volunteer Legal Advocates to provide assistance to victims of domestic violence in the Middlesex County Family Courthouse. Candidates must be fluent in Spanish and have the ability to work with diverse cultures. Flexible hours Monday-Friday 8:30 to 4:30 and a minimum of 8 hours a week required. Domestic violence work experience with knowledge of community resources and excellent interpersonal skills is a plus.
