SUPPORT M.C.F.O.O.D.S. in the fight to ease hunger in our County!
Monroe Fall Harvest Food Drive
Volunteer on Saturday, October 10, 2015 at 9:00 am -11:30am
Each year the adult communities in Monroe participate in the Fall Harvest Food Drive and bring in about 5 tons of food to benefit M.C.F.O.O.D.S. The contributions received through this drive help us keep food on our shelves through the fall to assist the 90 food pantries, soup kitchens and social service agencies in our network. We need your help to continue the success of this drive and ensure that all Middlesex County residents in need have access to nutritionally adequate food and necessities at all times.
Volunteers are needed to distribute bags and flyers to each of the residents in Clearbrook and Concordia. The communities are each divided into 12 sections. We need a couple people to cover each section (2-5 people per section is usually adequate. Children with adult supervision are welcome)
Volunteers will distribute materials on Saturday, October 10th at 9:00 am at their designated section. Bags, flyers and maps depicting the streets in your designated section will be distributed to volunteers ahead of time so that the flyers can be pre-stuffed into the bags and save time that morning. Volunteers are expected to bring their materials into your section and hang the bag and flyer on the flags of the mailboxes beginning at 9 am on 10/10. When you have completed your section you may leave. This usually takes 2-3 hours; most volunteers are done by 11:00 or 12:00. If you pre-stuff your bags the actual distribution time may be less.
If you would like to volunteer to help with this project please notify me as soon as possible. Thank you for your anticipated support of M.C.F.O.O.D.S.
