Who We Are

For ninety years, the YWCA Princeton has been the heart of a vibrant community, serving Mercer County and central NJ through educational and recreational classes, social services, advocacy, and leadership development. We are a not-for-profit organization with thousands of women, men, children and families as members. We offer an array of classes throughout the year such as adult education, adult salsa dancing, aikido, aquatics, arts and crafts, babysitting certification, ballet, biking, book clubs, brazilian jiu jitsu, chess, children?s musical dance, citizenship preparation, dance, drawing, early childhood education, English as a Second Language (ESL), judo, hip hop funk dance, intro and multi-level swim classes, martial arts, messy play, needlework, nursery school, piano, poetry, swim therapy, parent-child arts and play, quilting, Red Cross and Lifeguard Certification, and waterbaby/toddler swim classes. We can even host your child?s birthday party! Our Breast Cancer Resource Center (BCRC) provides information and support to women and families affected by breast cancer and public education. Our Wellness Program started in 1972 is now offered nationally. Our more than 20 offerings include wellness workouts, yoga, pilates, tai chi, diet education, counseling, lunch-and-learns, community outreach, and a variety of support groups. The Nursery School at the YWCA Princeton provides a safe, nurturing environment in which all children can flourish. We offer high quality, specialized care in addition to before and after school day care. Our After School Program in the public schools makes available specialized enrichment programs. And, we offer week-long camps during the spring vacation and winter school breaks. Our popular Summer Youth Camps all offer a variety of exercise, creative fun, and loads of activities. Campers can participate by the week or the entire summer! Our specialty summer camps include Fun Camp, Ballet Camp, Adventure Camp, and our popular Adventure Teen Camp. All promise lots of engagement and fun! For decades, our Newcomers Club has welcomed those new to the area hosting workshops, outings, socials, and ?Friday with Friends.? Special events are held throughout the year such as our magical Cinderella Ball, Father-Daughter Valentine Dance, Adult Dancing, NJ State Judo Championships, ?Women?s Empowerment Workshops, Women?s Equality Day and much more. Our signature events include the annual ETS Firecracker 5K Walk/Run, ?In the Pink? Fashion Show, Tribute to Women Awards Dinner, and Crafters? Marketplace. Most all classes and camps are held at our main campus located at 59 Paul Robeson Place, Princeton, NJ, 08540 in the YWCA / YMCA building and our historic Bramwell House. Our pools are located at 59 Paul Robeson Place, Princeton, and at West Windsor-Plainsboro High School, 90 Grover?s Mill Road, Plainsboro, NJ 08536.

Mission YWCA Princeton is dedicated to eliminating racism, empowering women, and promoting peace, justice, freedom, and dignity for all. Our History The YWCA is an international membership of women of different faiths, ages, experiences, and ethnic origins?working as an association to empower women and eliminate racism to realize the common vision of peace, justice, freedom and dignity for all people. Since 1922, the YWCA Princeton has dedicated itself to providing programs that facilitate growth and leadership for women and minorities, in particular to support individuals as they move toward self-sufficiency. The YWCA Princeton Board of Directors, and those of its national and international sister YWCAs, comprise the largest all-women governing body in the world. The YWCA Princeton advances its mission and meets the changing needs of its community through its ongoing programs of literacy: pre-k to citizenship, English as a Second Language, early childhood and youth programs, recreational and rehabilitative aquatics, breast cancer support, and women?s fitness.
