EWA has been recognized for our work in helping New Jersey families by the New Jersey State Senate, Assembly, and Governors, both Democrats and Republicans alike. EWA has been featured in several major documentaries and books, including HBO's Mann v. Ford, NJN's Rescuing the River: the Raritan, and the late Molly Ivins best seller "Bushwhacked." Our farm provides a way for those who want to engage in meaningful volunteer activities feel good about helping people and families. Here, volunteers can reconnect with the earth, change people's lives and heal the planet in a beautiful setting. Sunsets are free and a passion for animal friends and fresh air are part of the volunteer requirements. EWA also engages in helping families that are less fortunate. We run a clothing recycling program called RePurpose New Jersey (repurposenj.org) where we recycle and re-purpose textiles and clothing. We also run two of the largest and well read blogs in New Jersey: www.wildnewjersey.tv and www.newgreenmedia.tv. We believe in Saving the Planet one swamp at a time.
What We Do
Edison Wetlands Association has been serving the state of New Jersey, and more specifically the Central NJ community, for over 20 years. EWA's mission is to protect human health and the environment. We are a certified land trust and has purchased and preserved the last farm in Edison - the Triple C Ranch & Nature Center. EWA began in 1989 with a simple mission: Help make Edison and New Jersey clean and green again. Our small and dedicated staff and volunteers work on a variety of critical issues including community gardening, wildlife rescue and rehabilitation, and protecting what's left of our garden state while educating and engaging students and families in the importance and history of our natural world. We purchased the Triple C Ranch and Nature Center in 2000, and we are seeking volunteers to help us with a variety of activities. Whether you can spare one hour a month or 8 hours a day, we need your help.
